Artà is a small town in the north-east of Mallorca that has retained its medieval charm. It is located in an idyllic landscape, surrounded by the Serres de Llevant mountains and the unspoilt coastline of the Artà peninsula.

The town has a rich history dating back to the 13th century. Sights include the Gothic church Transfiguración del Senor, the regional museum of Artà, which is housed in a former Franciscan monastery, and the Almudaina d'Artà, a fortress with a church, monastery and chapel, which towers on a hill above the town.

Artà is also a centre for art and handicrafts. In the alleyways of the old town centre, you will find numerous studios, galleries and boutiques offering unique, high-quality items. The town is also known for its traditional pottery, which is made from the region's red clay.

Artà is a place that shows the authentic Mallorca. Here you can discover the past, present and future of this fascinating island.

Sant Salvador is a pilgrimage church and fortress on the Puig de Sant Salvador, a hill near the town of Artà in the north-east of Mallorca. Sant Salvador is a historical and spiritual landmark of the region and offers spectacular views of the landscape and the sea.

Sant Salvador was built in the 13th century after the Christian conquest of Mallorca on the site of a former Moorish mosque. The church was extended and remodelled several times, most recently in the 19th century in neoclassical style. The church consists of a single nave, a polygonal choir and a dome with a lantern. The church houses a statue of St Cyriacus, the patron saint of Artà, as well as various paintings and relics.

Sant Salvador is surrounded by a one metre thick wall with nine towers, which was built in the 14th century to protect it from pirate attacks. The wall has a Romanesque portal on the south side and a main tower on the west side. The wall also encloses the Sant Miquel chapel and some outbuildings.

Sant Salvador is a place of worship, culture and nature. It is a destination for pilgrims, tourists and hikers who want to discover the beauty and history of this place.
