Sweden is a Scandinavian country in Northern Europe known for its nature, culture and history. Sweden is a parliamentary monarchy with a king as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. Sweden has been a member of the European Union since 1995 and a member of NATO since 2024.
With an area of around 450,000 square kilometres, Sweden is the largest country in Northern Europe.
