Time-lapse recordings are a cinematic process for accelerating motion sequences. The frame rate of the recording camera is reduced compared to the playback frequency. If the recordings are then played back at normal speed, the recorded process appears to take place more quickly.

To create time-lapse recordings, individual images of the same subject are taken at regular intervals and combined into a time-lapse video with the help of software. There are many ways to create impressive time-lapse recordings. Good planning, a suitable location and the right camera settings are crucial.
