DBTH 3.0 took place on the Herkulesberg. This is an artificial hill in the Neustadt-Nord district of Cologne. It was heaped up from the rubble of the destroyed city after the Second World War. It is the largest of Cologne's eleven rubble mounds and is 72.2 metres high. From its top, there is an impressive view of the Cologne skyline with the cathedral. The Herkulesberg is also known as "Mont Klamott" because many items of clothing are buried beneath it. It was even mentioned in a song by the band Bläck Fööss. The Herkulesberg is a testimony to Cologne's history and a popular excursion destination.

German hip hop is a musical genre that developed from American hip hop culture. The beginnings of German hip hop date back to the 1980s, when groups such as Die Fantastischen Vier, Advanced Chemistry and Fettes Brot characterised the scene. They rapped in German and thematised the social problems in Germany.

German hip hop is diverse and has spawned various styles and subgenres. These include gangsta rap, conscious rap, battle rap and comedy rap, for example. Some of the best-known German hip-hop artists are Kool Savas, Sido, Bushido, Cro, Casper and Marteria. They have sold millions of albums and received numerous awards.

German hip hop is not just a form of music, but also a cultural movement that includes elements such as graffiti, breakdancing and DJing. German hip hop has had a major influence on the German language, youth culture and the media landscape.
